SUP Class & Excursion (SUP 101)

Stand-up paddleboarding is taking the outdoor adventure world by storm. When you book a guided SUP 101 excursion with Rill Adventures our highly qualified river guides will teach you the basics of balance, paddle techniques, how to fall safely and get back on your board, and about reading moving water. Professional instruction is the foundation for fun, safe learning, and confidence-building because it teaches proper technique from the start.

After a quick lap on flat water to familiarize yourself with the equipment we will launch just inside the Yakima River Canyon. This exciting float is 15 miles long and takes 4-5  hours including the pre trip class. Paddling through the spectacular Yakima River Canyon you will enjoy stunning views of towering basalt cliffs and the abundant wildlife. There are plenty of opportunities to stop for a riverside picnic, bring your own or have Rills provide one for you.

Guided SUP (SUP 102)

After graduating from the SUP 101 class, you and your group can head on up to the Upper Yakima River. On the Upper Yakima your balance will be challenged on choppy water and you will be able to experience a quieter more secluded section of the Yakima River.

If you’re done with SUP 101 but don’t feel ready to challenge your skills, you can also book another day on the Lower Yakima. The trip will start at the river instead of Helen McCabe state park and it does not include the 30-minute training session.
