Moonlight Summer Rafting

Step into a world of serene beauty and thrilling adventure with nighttime rafting on the Upper Yakima River. Experience the peace and quiet of a star-filled sky and a moonlit river valley, punctuated by the occasional hoot of an owl and the chirping of crickets. When we stop you will feel the rush of adrenaline and excitement as you navigate an abandoned pitch-black tunnel. This is an adventure you won’t want to miss!

On this trip, we meet just after sunset at our office in Thorp, we do introductions and a safety briefing, then we head to the river. The moon is usually behind the hills when we start, which will give you time to listen to the gentle sound of the water lapping against the side of your boat as you make your way down the river. Make sure to listen for the occasional hoot of an owl!

The first half of the trip gives you the opportunity to gaze up at the star-filled sky and experience the thrill of seeing shooting stars streak across the inky blackness of the night sky.

Halfway down, you will marvel at the awe-inspiring sight of a full moon rising over the river valley. As the moon begins to rise over the river valley, you’ll witness the world around you transform from darkness to a soft, silvery glow. The moonlight dancing on the water’s surface will create a breathtaking sight that you won’t soon forget.
